It's nice to be loved, especially when it's for the right reasons. Patients choose to see a chiropractor because they're looking for safe, affordable, personalized treatment that doesn't involve drugs or surgery.
Effective, safe and affordable
Chiropractic care has been shown to be a safe and effective way to treat a variety of conditions, including back pain, neck pain, headaches, sciatica, and more.
And as we covered in our last article, chiropractic is less expensive than other forms of healthcare.
Personalized care—holistic approach
At Parkside, we take the time to get to know each patient and develop a treatment plan that is tailored to their individual needs. We also look at your whole health picture when seeking to address the underlying issue. MDs are often overworked and understaffed, and on average spend 13-24 minutes with each patient.
No drugs or surgery
Chiropractic care does not involve the use of drugs or surgery, which makes it an attractive option for people who are looking for a more natural approach. Painkillers have their place in healthcare, but it’s best to avoid them if possible. And the Mayo clinic says back surgery is rarely necessary.
Patient satisfaction research
More than 7 in 10 people who saw a chiropractor in 2016 described the care as “very effective,” and 9 in 10 said it was “effective.“
Consumer Reports has stated that chiropractors are the highest-rated healthcare practitioners for low-back pain treatments above physical therapists (PTs), specialist physician/MD (i.e., neurosurgeons, neurologists, orthopaedic surgeons), and primary care physicians.
Chiropractors’ collaborative, whole-person approach reflects the changing realities of health care delivery, bringing greater clinical efficiency, patient satisfaction and cost savings.
In 2015, the organization that accredits more than 20,000 health care systems in the U.S. (including every major hospital) recognized the value of non-drug approaches by adding chiropractic to its pain management standard.
A clinical comparative trial found that chiropractic care combined with usual medical care for low back pain provides greater pain relief and a greater reduction in disability than medical care alone.
In another trial, 94% of chiropractic treatment recipients experienced a 30% reduction in their pain, compared with only 54% of medical care recipients.
